In July 2001, during my studies of International Logistics, I received an award from the China Institute of the TFH Wildau for a first trip to China with a special focus on Beijing. I completed a special intensive language course on site and immersed myself deeply in the peculiarities of Mandarin. After successfully completing the course, I traveled on to Shanghai alone by train.
In 2002 I came back for my diploma thesis — this time to Tianjin, about 90 km to the east of Beijing. But more about that later in another story.

Vacation in Kerch on the Crimea

In 2013, I went on a wonderful exploration trip with my family to the eastern part of Crimea to Kerch.
It really is quite an interesting town and on our trip to the nearby Sea of Azov we even had the opportunity to eat ostrich meat (which, by the way, is very healthy). The botanical garden, located further south of Kerch, is also highly recommended — you can admire an incredible amount of different plants there.
